The celebrations began with the Maiyan ceremony, a joyous pre-wedding tradition filled with blessings, laughter, and love. Family and friends gathered to apply haldi (turmeric paste) to Kim, symbolizing purification and preparation for her new chapter. The bright colors and heartfelt emotions set the tone for the days to come.

Nanke Shak & Choora 


As Kim’s wedding celebrations unfolded, each event added another layer of love, tradition, and excitement leading up to her big day. One such special day was the Nanke Shak and Choora Ceremony, where emotions ran high, traditions came to life, and blessings poured in from all sides.


The day began with Kim’s Nanke Shak, a cherished tradition where her maternal family (Nanke) played a significant role in blessing her for her new journey. With hearts full of love, her family showered her with gifts, jewelry, and traditional outfits, symbolizing their best wishes for her future. Laughter, joy, and happy tears filled the air as her loved ones embraced her, marking this moment as one of deep emotional significance.


As the day progressed, the Choora ceremony took center stage. In this heartwarming ritual, Kim’s maternal uncles (mamas) lovingly adorned her wrists with the traditional red and ivory bangles (choora)—a symbol of good luck, prosperity, and the beginning of her new chapter as a bride. She was then draped in a red chunni, a gesture symbolizing her transition into married life, while her closest friends and family tied kalire (golden ornaments) onto her bangles, wishing her happiness and love in the years to come.
